Our endless pursuit of delicious food, aesthetic vibes, and bomb drinks has led us to yet another flavorful find—Ama Café. As promised, the One Air Media crew is back with yet another restaurant review, and this time it's one of the “Insta-famous” ones.
Ama Cafe is a cosy nook, hidden in the maze-like streets of Majnu Ka Tila, New Delhi. With its mountain-inspired ambience and the irresistible aroma of freshly baked breads and cakes, Ama Café has truly earned its place as a local favorite. But does it really live up to the hype?
History of Ama Café
Ama Café was born from founder Tenzin Thardoe’s nostalgia for the peaceful hill cafés of his childhood in Dharamshala and Kathmandu. Missing the warmth of simple breakfasts, fresh bakes, and serene mountain views, he brought that experience to Delhi in 2013. What began as a heartfelt tribute to the Himalayan way of life has now grown, with a second café in Dehradun, offering a cozy escape and a taste of the mountains in the city.

Drinks and Ama Specials
Ama Café offers a wide variety of drink options, from their summer special refreshers to their Ama Special tea and coffee blends. The sheer range can leave you spoilt for choice. One of their most refreshing serves is the Zesty Citrus Sparkler, a zesty mix of orange citrus syrup, fresh lime juice, and soda with a spicy twist. If summer were a drink, it would be the Zesty Citrus Sparkler.
Ama’s heart lies in its coffee. Claimed to be sourced directly from the Himalayas, their coffee boasts a rich, hazelnut-like flavor. Another divine drink on the menu is their Hazelnut Hot Chocolate. While it leans on the sweeter side, it still delivers a deep, rich chocolate taste that’s hard to resist.

Ama’s Main Course
From light breakfast options to a satisfying main course, they have it all. But the standout would be their Spaghetti Aglio-E-Olio — a mouth-watering mix of sundried tomatoes, sautéed garlic, fresh basil, olives, and classic spaghetti. The Farmhouse Pizza, another delightful offering from Ama, strikes the perfect balance between the crispiness of the base and the juiciness of the vegetables and sauce. The cheese on top is just the icing on the cake.

Desserts: The Sweet Heaven
Ama is known for its desserts all over Delhi. They offer desserts with eggless, gelatin, and egg options, which is quite convenient for their vegetarian customers. Their Decadent Chocolate Éclair is a delicious fusion of Callebaut 54.5% dark chocolate, chantilly cream, ganache, and delicate chocolate discs. The cream melts in your mouth as you bite into it.
Their Biscoff Cheesecake, another recommendation-worthy number, has a creamy cheesecake flavor with a hint of saltiness from the Biscoff biscuits, which cuts through the sweetness perfectly. However, we would definitely recommend that they increase their eggless dessert options.

Ambience and Aesthetics
With warm ambient lighting and a woody brown interior, Ama Cafe is a perfect replication of small cafes in the Himalayan mountains. The greenery in the cafe serves as a beautiful backdrop for Insta-worthy photos and offers a peaceful place to dine alone or together with loved ones.
Overall Ratings
Ama Café comfortably earns a 4.1 out of 5, and it’s easy to see why. The food consistently hits the mark — whether you’re in the mood for a light bite or something more filling, there’s plenty to choose from. The warm, cozy vibe of the place makes it feel welcoming, and the staff usually adds to that charm with their friendly service. While there are a few areas that could use some attention, like offering more eggless options or easing the wait during busy hours, the overall experience is enjoyable and keeps people coming back.
