Dubai grabbed every boxing fan’s attention as the IBA announced Dubai as the official venue for the IBA Men’s Elite World Championship 2025 at the well-known Dubai Tennis Stadium from 2 December to 13 December. The bigger spotlight is the $8 million prize pool that has been announced for the championship. This can be a big step for the championship.
All Eyes on The Gigantic Prize Pool
The prize pool announced for this edition of the championship is the largest ever offered at an IBA elite event. Boxers from all around the world will be participating and competing for the glory and the grand prize. IBA has announced the structure of the prize pool, which offers $300,000 for the winner of each category.
“This World Championships is not just about records and prize money – it is about giving every boxer, every coach and every National Federation the respect and reward they deserve,” Said President Kremlev. The prize pool is not just for the boxer; out of the total winnings, 50% will go to the boxer, 25% to the coaches, and 25% to the National Federations.
Festival of Boxing
The festival of boxing that is going to take place in Dubai will take the sport of boxing to new levels. In the 75 years of its legacy, IBA has nurtured many elite boxers and stands alone in the world as a global leader in boxing. “The IBA Men’s Elite World Championships in Dubai this December will be more than a competition, it will be a celebration of boxing in all its forms,” said Chris Roberts OBE, Secretary General & CEO of IBA.

In addition to the men's elite bouts, the championship itself will be a component of an overall "Festival of Boxing" in Dubai that will also feature the IBA Congress, Global Boxing Forum, and a professional boxing evening. These concurrent events will attempt to build not only a tournament but an actual global meeting for the sport.
Dubai’s Emergence as a Global Sports Hub
The choice of Dubai as host is a testament to the emirate's increasing desire to be a venue for large sports events. It has persistently invested in infrastructure, facilities, and supportive policies to host international tournaments in cricket, tennis, motorsport, golf and combat sports.

The hosting of the IBA Men’s Elite World Championship will strengthen the reputation of Dubai as a global sporting city. This step also aligns with the city’s model of blending sport, tourism and spectacle. “Dubai will become the capital of boxing this December, where athletes from every corner of the globe will compete on equal terms, under their own flags, and with a chance to change their lives.” Said President Kremlev.
An Optimistic Step Forward in the Future
The 2025 IBA Men's Elite World Championship is not just a contest of punches — it's a fight for pride, recognition, and the future of the sport itself. Record prize money, an eager city looking to demonstrate its sporting credentials, and athletes all focused on leaving their mark in history books make it a setup for a spectacle that will reshape the face of amateur boxing. With the advent of December comes one undeniable fact: the world will be tuning in as Dubai becomes the centre of the world's boxing.
