Jannik Sinner continued his dominant run at the Miami Open, defeating Frances Tiafoe in 6 - 2, 6 - 2 in the quarterfinal of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament on hard court to advance to the semifinal.

Sinner dominates Tiafoe in Miami Open quarterfinal match

Sinner took control of the match from the beginning of the game, breaking Tiafoe immediately and setting the tone with aggressive baseline play and consistent serving. The World No.2 dropped just nine points on serve across the match, underlining his control in both sets.

The Italian dictated rallies with clean hitting and limited errors, leaving Tiafoe struggling to find rhythm despite strong support from the home crowd. The opening set was wrapped up quickly with Sinner maintaining pressure through every service game.

"I feel like starting the match is very important," Sinner said. "When you start by going a break-up, it gives you already a slightly good confidence."

Sinner maintains control as Tiafoe fails to shift momentum

Tiafoe showed signs of resistance at the start of the second set, managing to hold serve under pressure and briefly stabilising the contest. However, Sinner continued to push from baseline and created multiple break opportunities before eventually converting to regain full control.

The World No.2 did not allow any opening for a comeback, closing out the match efficiently and dropping just one more game. His ability to stay composed and maintain intensity throughout ensured there were no momentum swings in the quarterfinal.

The 71-minute victory extended Sinner's winning streak and reinforced his consistency during this phase of the ATP season.

Sunshine Double bid continues as Sinner sets up Zverev semifinal

With the win, Sinner moves a step closer to completing the Sunshine Double- winning both Indian Wells and the Miami Open in the same season- a rare feat in the Open Era.

"To be hungry for more success, I think is quite natural," Sinner said. "Mentally you have to stay calm and be relaxed also off the court.. I'm trying to keep going."

He will next face Alexander Zverev in the semifinal, in what is expected to be a key match in the tournament. Sinner has now reached the semifinal in four of his appearances at the Miami Open and will carry strong form on hard court into the next round as the ATP event approaches its conclusion.
