Cameron Norrie Ready to Challenge Top Seed Carlos Alcaraz at Paris Masters
Cameron Norrie is aiming to end his season on a high-note and few tests are tougher than facing World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz. The 30-year-old Briton will meet the Spaniard in the second round of Rolex Paris Masters on Tuesday, just months after Alcaraz cruised past him in the Wimbledon quarter-final.
"It's a match to enjoy. He's one of the two best players in the world, between him and Jannik (Sinner)", Norrie said after his winning his first match at Paris Masters. "I'm going to take it to him... I always have battles with him, so I'm looking forward to that."

Norrie reached the second round after a tight opener against Sebastian Baez, winning 6 - 3, 6 - 4 in a match filled with service breaks. The Briton used the contest to settle into the new La defense Arena conditions.
"I was a little bit nervous, but it's a nice new feeling to be playing here," Norrie said. "Those are the exact matches you want to be playing, when you're a bit nervous and then you come through it."

Although Alcaraz leads their Lexus ATP Head2Head with 5 - 2, Norrie believes the slower court speed in Paris could give him a better chance to use his heavy topspin forehand. The Briton believes that the court suits his game well with the ball's bouncing up a little bit more than he remembers.
Still, the challenge remains steep. Alcaraz enters the tournament fresh from winning the Tokyo title, boasting a Tour-leading eight titles in 2025." Norrie acknowledged that Alcaraz has a very complete game and is one of the most confident players on the Tour at the moment, adding that he would need to raise his level significantly to have a chance against him.
After 2024 season disrupted by a forearm injury that ruled him out of the Paris Olympics and Us Open, Norrie has rediscovered his form with a runner-up finish in Metz. The former World No.8 also recorded a Top 10 win over Lorenzo Musetti in Washington earlier this season.
Now, as he gears up to face the world's best, Norrie's determination is clear: For sure, time for some revenge. he chopped me pretty easily at Wimbledon, so I'm going to have to step up.
