Songs and Podcasts on WhatsApp Status Can Now be Shared with Preview

Spotify has introduced a new feature that allows users to share their favourite songs, podcasts, and remixes on WhatsApp Status with an engaging preview. The shared status will display an attractive visual card along with the title of the song or podcast, offering a quick and appealing glimpse for viewers. This update is available to both free and premium Android users.

About the Feature

With this feature, WhatsApp users can easily open the shared songs or podcasts through a status update. When a viewer taps on the status, a pop-up option “Open with Spotify” will appear, allowing them to listen to a short preview or access the full track directly on Spotify. This makes sharing music and podcasts more interactive and seamless across the two platforms.

How to Share Spotify Songs and Podcasts on WhatsApp Status?

To share Spotify songs or podcasts on WhatsApp Status, open the Spotify app on your Android phone and tap the Share option next to the track, playlist, or podcast you want to post. Then, select WhatsApp from the available sharing options. The track will automatically appear on your WhatsApp Status with its title, cover art, and an “Open on Spotify” button. Viewers can enjoy a short audio preview before deciding to listen to the full version on Spotify.

Is it only limited to Whatsapp Status?

Spotify now allows users to share music and podcasts with family members, relatives, friends, and acquaintances directly through messages. This update has recently rolled out on several devices and is expected to become available on other Android devices soon. The platform has also enhanced its Instagram integration, enabling users to listen to short audio previews before opening the full track. Instagram users can now share what they are listening to on Spotify in real time via Notes. According to Team Spotify:

We recently rolled out two exciting new integrations: audio previews in Instagram Stories and real-time music sharing in Instagram Notes. Both features are designed to enhance discovery and sharing, allowing you to seamlessly bring your favorite tracks to your social circle in new ways.

The company plans to expand similar features to other platforms as well. Spotify is partnering with TikTok to let users share songs, podcasts, and audiobooks within the short-video app. A comparable sharing option is already available on Snapchat, allowing users to post Spotify clips to their Stories or send them directly via chats.

However, WhatsApp remains the most user-friendly platform used by people of all age groups to connect with others, and this update enables Spotify to reach a broader audience.
