After spending 20 years in England and at Anfield, young Liverpool star Trent Alexander Arnold has completed his move to La Liga giants, Real Madrid on a free transfer, although Arnold’s contract at Liverpool ran until June 30, Real Madrid and Liverpool came to terms to let him complete the move so that he can be a part of Madrid’s squad for the upcoming Club World Cup. 

Madrid handed over a fees of $11.5M to accommodate Arnold’s early move. 

SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS MOVE. 

Trent Alexander Arnold has been a serial winner all his life at Liverpool winning accolades throughout his career, at the age of 26 he is already a Premier League and Champions League winner with Liverpool and now would like to enhance his already impressive CV by winning accolades with the La Liga giants Real Madrid, Trent mentioned that for him Real Madrid was the only club he would consider leaving his boyhood club Liverpool for. Arnold's participation in the tournament in the United States would help him adapt to the team, sources said, as well as boosting their chances of success in the competition.

DETAILS ABOUT THE TRANSFER 

Real Madrid announced Alexander-Arnold's arrival at Los Blanco’s last month, after reaching an agreement with Liverpool. Trent formally signed his contract – set to run until June 30, 2031 – on Thursday, during the unveiling ceremony where he posed with his new Madrid shirt, which featured the name "Trent" and the No. 12. He was then presented by president Florentino Perez at the club's training ground, afterwards Trent faced the media in a news conference. During his presentation, Alexander-Arnold impressed the audience by delivering a brief speech in Spanish citing that he has been taking Spanish lessons for the past four months. 


MADRID’S STRATEGY THIS SEASON

Real Madrid had an underwhelming season which did not meet the standards of the rich history of the club as they failed to win the league title and the Champions League, while this season stung a little more as they could not beat their arch-rivals Barcelona throughout the season. Real Madrid have already made a lot of moves with the appointment of new head coach Xabi Alonso, new defender Dean Huijsen, and 17 year old Argentine wonderkid Franco Mastantuono. These new signings have strengthened their squad for the upcoming Club World Cup and the subsequent season.
