Furthering the nuclear weapon agenda, the US and Israel have attacked the streets of Iran once again in the early hours of 28th February 2026. The operation has been described by U.S. officials as a “major combat operation” and was reportedly planned months in advance. But is this just a military operation or a strategic gameplay of control?
Official Statements and U.S. Government Perspective
US President Donald Trump announced the strikes as the beginning of “major combat operations” against Iran, tying the action to threats from Iran’s missile programme, regional behaviour, and nuclear ambitions. He also called for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to lay down arms or face “certain death.” He urged Iranian citizens to take control of their government once the operation concludes. However, this move was criticized by some Democrats, who called the operation a "war of choice" with no clarity.
Israeli Government’s Justification
Addressing the attack, Israeli President Benjamin Nethayahu framed it as pre-emptive and necessary to neutralize what Israel perceives as an existential threat from Iran, especially regarding its missile and nuclear programmes. He also called on the Iranian people to seize their fate and rise against the regime following the strikes.
Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed in an official statement that the strike is a coordinated operation between the US military and the IDF, stating that the collaboration aims to curb the expected Iranian retaliation.
Iran's Response
Iran has condemned the strikes as illegitimate and in violation of international law, calling them “unprovoked aggression". The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that they have initiated drone and missile operations against the US and Israeli bases in the Gulf. Iran also vowed a "crushing" or a defensive response while also calling for an emergency United Nations Security Council session.
International Reactions
Countries like Ukraine have supported the strikes, expressing their concerns about Iran's supposed nuclear operations. They claimed that Iran has been constantly supporting armed conflicts, which have been affecting the countries severely.
Russia condemned the strikes, calling them “ unprovoked armed aggression” and warning they could destabilize the region. China urged respect for Iran’s sovereignty and an immediate cessation of military actions, emphasizing diplomacy. Many countries, including across Europe, have warned of dire humanitarian consequences and urged maximum restraint and diplomatic engagement.
This conflict has had a long-standing history of unrest, deception and false allegations. As all three countries play the blame game, the civilians keep on suffering every day with no hope of a normal lifestyle.
