Heeseung to leave Enhypen
In a major shift of the K-pop scene, Heeseung will officially depart from Enhypen, a South Korean boy band, as confirmed on Tuesday by a statement from its management label, BELIFT LAB, on social media.
The agency, which operates under HYBE, said the decision followed extensive discussions about the group's long-term direction and the individual aspirations of its members. Going forward, Enhypen will continue activities as a six-member boy group, while Heeseung prepares to launch his solo career as an artist under the same label.

"Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision and we have decided to respect it," the agency said in the notice.
Solo Album in the works under BELIFT LAB
The statement given by the management confirmed that Heeseung will remain with BELIFT LAB and is currently preparing a solo album, marking a new journey in his music career while remaining part of the broader HYBE ecosystem. The label acknowledged that the move may come as a surprise to the group's dedicated fanbase, Engene, but emphasized that the decision followed "extensive deliberation."
The announcement marks a major shift for Enhypen, one of the prominent fourth-generation K-pop acts to emerge from the survival show I-Land. Formed in 2020 through the competition series, the boyband quickly built an international following, with fans across Asia, North America, and Europe contributing to its growing global presence.
What the Change means for Enhypen and Engene
Heeseung, often recognized for his vocal stability and songwriting potential within Enhypen, has been regarded as one of the group's central performers since their debut. His transition to a solo artist signals both an individual creative shift and a structural change for the boy group, which will now promote with six members.
While the agency did not detail the timeline for the upcoming solo release, it's confirmed that Heeseung will remain active in the music industry under BELIFT LAB, continuing to develop his personal sound within the wider K-pop landscape.
At the same time, Enhypen will maintain group activities and performances, with the agency stating that the remaining members remain "committed to sharing energetic performances" with Engene. The label also called on fans to continue supporting both the boyband and Heeseung as they move forward on separate paths.
Both Enhypen and Heeseung are expected to share their further updates on upcoming music activities in the coming months.
