The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) has filed a 650 page chargesheet against the accused husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, in the recent Twisha Sharma death case. CCTV footage, call logs, text messages, post-mortem reports and other technical evidence have been recovered.

About the Chargesheet
The CBI filed the 650 page chargesheet on August 17, 2026. The two accused have been charged under BNS sections 80(2), 85, 108, and 3(5) along with Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. The accused have been charged with abetment of suicide, mental cruelty and dowry death, according to the chargesheet.

The chargesheet alleges that Twisha was pressured by her husband to transfer money from her Demat account which held equity investments totaling Rs 20 lakh to invest in Chinese stocks. A call between Twisha and her sister-in-law was recorded at 7:51 PM on the day of her death (May 12, 2026).
The chargesheet further states that the victim faced mental harassment for being unemployed. Investigators noted that the victim had informed her parents about being mocked for not knowing English and being told she would never get a job. Notably, records show 34 calls between the two families during which the victim's mother attempted to reach out to the accused.

Twisha Sharma Case: Last Words Before She Died
According to the chargesheet, a call made by Twisha to her home at 9:20 PM ended abruptly following an alleged outburst by her husband. At 9:36 PM, she told her sister-in-law:
"Ask him to collect the leftovers of his wife. But tomorrow. Let me die in peace right now."
She was alone on the terrace at 9:40 PM. During one of her calls with her father, Twisha mentioned aggression and violence from her husband. Her final call was with her mother at 10:05 PM, after which she did not answer any calls.
Her mother-in-law attempted to call her at 10:18 PM after searching the ground floor but received no response. CCTV footage allegedly shows Samarth and his mother heading toward the terrace where the victim was subsequently found hanging from a gymanstic belt.
