The Nashik godman namely Ashok Kharat, has been alleged of heinous crimes. These include rape, sexual abuse, and monetary fraud. The Nashik Godman is alleged to carry them in the name of supersitions.
As investigations continue, the ED has conducted raids over monetary allegations, while the court has ordered a five day custody as he is alleged of rape. 11 cases have been registered against him out of which 8 are that of assualts and rapes.
FIR was lodged in case of monetary frauds on April 6 at Sarkarwada Police Station in Nashik district. The Enforcement Director (ED) of Mumbai office II is investigating the allegations on Nashik Godman. ED is investtigating Section 17 stating Prevention of Money Laundering act.
The areas are not limited to Nashik; Shirdi and Pune have also been covered and investigated. The Nashik godman’s CA and his relatives are also to be investigated. Reports reveal that 11 premises have been under investigation. Recent investigations against the accused godman reveal that he had opened multiple accounts using third parties and credit societies.
ED investigations have found the Nashik godman’s mobile number linked with the accounts. Further, officials reveal that simple goods were objectified as "blessed objects." The increased funds were used by the godman’s CA to buy land and properties for him.
The fourth case has been registered in the Nashik Godman's name. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate A. G. Behere granted permission for five days of custody. While the SIT continues its investigation, the court's verdict was based on hearing both parties, with the defendant arguing that police remand was not necessary. The prosecution argued about the sexual assault committed by the Nashik Godman. Considering the heinous crime reported, the court has granted five days of police custody while investigations continue.
