A security guard was killed by the accused in Bandra East, Mumbai. The guard was in a romantic relationship with a woman. The woman, a resident of Mumbai, refused a forced marriage with the accused, who is alleged to have killed the guard. The accused in the brutal daylight murder has been arrested and investigations including post-mortem reports and CCTV examinations are ongoing.

About the Murder in Bandra East
The murder was reported on April 17, 2026, when the security guard was found dead at a construction site in Mumbai. The murder occured last week at around 2:15 pm near the MHADA office in Bandra East, Mumbai. The decesed was natively from Bihar and had joined in duty since the first of the month. Although an auto driver did reach out to the nearby hospital but it was too late. A fellow security guard reported to Mid day:
"I came for duty around 3 pm and got to know that he had been attacked earlier. I don’t know the reason, but I was told his throat was slit."
Mumbai Murder: What Do The Officials State?
Investigations reveal that the accused used a knife, and marks were found on the neck and hands of the deceased. The police have arrested the accused, who was found escaping through multiple locations. The accused, in an attempt to avoid murder charges, was reportedly traced while trying to flee from Kolkata to Delhi. The arrest occurred within 60 hours of the murder.

The CISF supported the investigation, and the accused was arrested at the airport. As the investigation continues, the body has been sent for post-mortem, and CCTV footage is being examined. Current examinations reveal a phone call by the accused before the murder. Senior Police Inspector Sarika Patil mentioned:
“The accused did not arrive in any vehicle. After committing the crime, they fled in an auto. We are scanning CCTV footage from the area and the accused will be arrested soon.”
Further, The DCP of Zone 8 stated:
“The motive appears to be trivial, however, efforts are underway to establish the exact motive behind the crime.”
