Samson and Iyer on the Win

The Player of the match, Samju Samson on his achievement said it feels really good, adding that they are just in the moment of having won the match and that whatever contribution you make, it feels good when the team wins. Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer expressed delight over the team's victory joking that they no longer need to worry about the result. However, he admitted that the pitch was initially slow and that the bowlers bowled slightly ahead of the hard lengths they intended to target.

Iyer noted that once the dew set in, the ball began coming onto the bat nicely, allowing the team to chase 226 runs, with 85 runs in the first six overs providing a tremendous start. Praising the openers, he said their experience meant they did not need much guidance and could go about their business independently. He added that when the team clicks, they set up the game well allowing the batters who follow to finish it. Iyer also praised Naman Dhir highlighting the many options he provides the team and commending his calm and composed performance.
